La Necia
La Necia cannot sit down.
She bangs the cabinets in the kitchen
And in your brain.
La Necia cannot be quiet.
As you hear the blender at 5AM,
The spinning noise
Makes you think about life,
And if there are blenders in Heaven.
La Necia cannot be alone,
As she gets closer to you on the couch,
And just stares.
La Necia is awkward too,
For didn’t anyone tell her it was
Not polite to stare.
La Necia says she is just going to boil water
And then she will be out of your way.
You ask her is she is sure,
she nods her head and smiles.
Twenty minutes later, the banging continues,
And you still have not had your breakfast.
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppp
Goes the smoke detector
La Necia forgot about her pie
“Open the windows!”
As I give a great sigh.
You walk back to your room
And lay back down to cry.
At least it is now quiet,
your alone with your thoughts,
As you hear a pair of chanclas
Smacking the floor like gunshots.
La Necia knocks on your door.
For who do you think you are?
For no one shuts La Necia out.
Rage goes into your mind
as you begin to see red,
Maybe you should say
What needs to be said.
The truth is that you are La NECIA now
And you don't recognize yourself.
You can blame everything one her
But you have lost thyself!
